News - Belarusian Ministry of Education will be among the main news makers at MILEX-2009.

Belarus does not make own arms, but the technologies developed in Belarus are actively used by the leading Russian arms makers. At MILEX-2009 the united stand of the Ministry of Education will display new innovations and scientific developments of dual purpose.

At the moment Technopark BNTU «Metolit» is negotiating an agreement with one of the key innovation structures of St. Petersburg aimed at ensuring the direct access to the data base of Belarusian scientific and technical developments for the shipbuilding enterprises of the Sea Capital of Russia. This is principally important, as such a mode will put Belarusian developers in equal conditions with their Russian counterparts, thus considerably raising the probability of utilizing Belarusian technological developments. Most likely the agreement will be signed during MILEX.
Belarusian technologies of strengthening materials traditionally draw attention of the representatives of the CIS defense industry. One of special importance is the ion-plasma nitriding (IPA), to be displayed at the Ministry’s stand too. It represents a whole niche in metal processing, where advantages of Belarusian technologies have specific parameters and where there are all prerequisites for Belarus’ becoming a key player in this perspective market, at least in the CIS.
Belarus made IPA units in no technical parameter are inferior to the best international brands, but cost considerably lower. Our units are either already successfully working at the leading machine-building companies of the CIS or the latter order IPA treatment of their spares in the territory of Belarus: MMPP Salut (the developer of the engines for the 5th generation fighter), Group GAZ and KAMAZ (main Russian suppliers of automobile and armored vehicles), Motor Sich (the CIS’s largest supplier of aviation engines), Zorya-Mashrpoject (CIS’ single supplier of naval gas turbines) and other. According to the Russian and Belarusian experts the success of the commercialization of this Belarusian development at the level of individual enterprises and the degree of know-how makes it worth a status of a centralized program.
The stand of the Ministry of Education will have a number of other equally interesting developments of dual purpose. We invite your to our stand at MILEX on May, 19-22.
